Continuing Education for Healthcare Providers

The North Central Indiana AHEC regularly provides continuing education programs for healthcare professionals and community members. It provides health professionals with access to resources that support practice, reduce professional isolation, disseminate best practices, and improve the quality of health care for medically underserved communities and health disparities populations.

Continuing Education continues to focus on mental health, quality of care, and cultural competency. New to our programming this year, diabetes and psychosocial issues.

In 2018, there were 320 participants across the state of Indiana.

  • 86% of trainees identified an increase in knowledge

  • 82% of participants indicated committed intent to implement a practice improvement

  • 84% of participants reported intent to apply the continuing education units to professional education requirements
